My name is Laura, and on October 22 I got a tribute backpiece in memory of one of my closest friends. On September 21, the world lost Lacey, the beautiful girl on the left who has been featured here before, to an immune disease that attacked her liver.
It was my 21st birthday on October 15th, and the only thing I wanted was a tattoo to memorialize her and the things that reminded me of our friendship and her impact on my life, so I set an appointment for the day after the one month anniversary of her passing.
Lacey always had my back and always will. She’s right over my heart forever with artwork more beautiful than I even wished for. She was everyone’s little mermaid, she had hidden Mickeys throughout her home, and we would always yell “MPP!” at each other because Mr. Pricklepants (from Toy Story 3) is basically the best. Her spirit is surrounds everyone with “colors of the wind” (which is also a personal memory with her) and we should all live our lives with no worries and…this is long and blabbery and obviously very personal and every bit of it has a purpose.
I hope you all love my tribute to Lacey as much as I do. May she rest in peace.
